The normal roster number is 23, but because of the pandemic teams are allowed to carry two extra players into their cohort to allow for flexibility in case of injury or suspension.
Participating teams are allowed to have up to 25 players signed for the upcoming pod season, which starts this Friday with 10 teams in action. The season includes 16 teams participating, as the Wenatchee Wild and Langley Rivermen both announced a hiatus due to various factors related to the pandemic. More than a full calendar year after the 2019-20 season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the BC Hockey League is set to drop the puck on the 2020-21 season in five pods around the province.
